Overview

The Notification Center keeps you informed about activity across your auctions. Access it from the bell icon in the dashboard header to view submission reminders, system alerts, and other notifications.

Notification Bell

The notification bell appears in the top-right corner of the dashboard header. A red badge shows your unread notification count.

Opening the Panel

Click the bell icon to open the notification panel. The panel slides out from the right side and displays your recent notifications.

Notification Types

Each notification displays:
  • Title — A brief summary of the notification
  • Body — Additional detail (if available)
  • Timestamp — Relative time (e.g., “5 minutes ago”)
  • Read/Unread indicator — Blue dot for unread notifications

Managing Notifications

Marking as Read

Single notification:
  • Click on a notification to mark it as read automatically
  • Or click the checkmark icon on hover
All notifications:
  • Click Mark all as read at the top of the panel to clear all unread indicators

Deleting Notifications

Click the trash icon on a notification to permanently remove it. Deleted notifications cannot be recovered.
Deleting a notification removes it permanently. If you just want to dismiss it, mark it as read instead.

Browser Push Notifications

Enable browser push notifications to receive alerts even when the admin dashboard tab isn’t active.

Setting Up Push Notifications

Open Notification Panel

Find Push Toggle

At the top of the panel, locate the Browser Notifications toggle

Enable Push

Click the toggle to enable. Your browser will prompt you to allow notifications from the site.

Allow in Browser

Click Allow when your browser asks for notification permission

Disabling Push Notifications

Toggle off Browser Notifications in the notification panel. You can also revoke permission in your browser settings.
Push notifications require a modern browser that supports the Web Push API (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). Safari support varies by version.

Email Notification Preferences

Control whether you receive reminder emails in addition to in-app and push notifications.

Managing Email Reminders

Open Profile

Click your avatar in the header and select Profile

Find Email Preferences

Locate the Reminder Emails toggle in your profile settings

Toggle On or Off

Enable to receive email reminders, or disable to only receive in-app and push notifications
Email reminders are enabled by default. If you prefer to use only in-app and push notifications, disable email reminders in your profile.

Troubleshooting

Solutions:
  1. Refresh the page — the unread count polls every 30 seconds
  2. Check the notification panel to see if notifications are appearing
  3. Clear browser cache and reload
Solutions:
  1. Check that notifications are enabled in the panel toggle
  2. Verify browser notification permission (check the lock icon in the URL bar)
  3. Ensure your browser supports Web Push (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
  4. Check that the service worker is registered (DevTools > Application > Service Workers)
  5. Some browser extensions may block notifications
Solutions:
  1. Check the Reminder Emails toggle in your profile (must be enabled)
  2. Check your spam/junk folder
  3. Verify your email address is correct in your profile
  4. Contact your admin if the issue persists
